Since we did so much with the Walters when they visited us, I thought I should split it up into days.
They almost didn't make it: They took off from SLC on Thursday night, and we were super excited for their arrival. However, around 11:00PM I received a call from Troy saying a piece of their car had literally fallen off, and they were turning around to go back home. So, we thought, that's the end of that...and we were totally bummed out. We didn't have the heart to tell Arden the primas weren't coming, so we decided to call them, and have Aunt Kristen give Arden the painful news.
However, Friday morning, when we called to check on them, we found out, they were getting a rental car, loading it, and heading out to Cali. We were so happy.
The very tired family arrived around 10:30PM and we put them all in bed...Arden woke up, and was way too excited to see his primas, so he and B didn't fall asleep until after 12:30AM. The primas slept in the same room as Arden...what a joy that was for him.
The next morning we got up, got dressed, had breakfast and ran...yes, we ran to the train station, to catch the train to SF. It was the girls first time riding on a train...they had fun. After riding in the Caltrain, we got on the subway MUNI, and then rode on the old cars (bus) to

Fisherman's Wharf.

The girls really enjoyed looking at the sea lions, and walking around looking at the street performers. If you notice, we all had matching shirts, so we didn't lose anyone...at one point, we almost picked up

another child, since he was dressed like our group.

We ate lunch, walked some more and headed over to Ghirardelli Square and devoured some delicious desserts...YUM!
Then, we headed back home on the train...they were tired, but still happy. To energize them, I fed them snacks and drinks between stops. They attacked the food, it was pretty funny. After we got off at our stop, Newel and Troy headed back home to pick up the cars, while we waited for them at the main intersection off of the train station, and then we headed out to Half Moon Bay, to our favorite spot. We went to see the sunset. We didn't stay very long, since it was pretty windy and cold (we bundled up with anything we had in the car, blankets, shirts). We also didn't go to the tide pools, since it was getting dark, and we were hungry. After the sunset, we headed out to our favorite restaurant, to enjoy the best fish and chips, and clam chowder around. It was a very busy,
yet fun day.
