End of June-July

Ruth-E climbing
Not long after our trip to Manti, my birthday was coming up. Kristen offered to watch our kids so we could have a night/weekend away.  Newel and I drop the kids off at Kristen's house and then headed over to the Copper Onion for dinner.  The food was delicious.  Since we knew we had a trip to FL soon, we were watching our waistline. Therefore, we didn't have a huge dessert, we shared one...and it was a good thing because it wasn't that good. After dinner, we did something we never do...we went to the mall and walked around. We even shopped.

After dinner we picked up a DVD and headed back home.  We stayed up way late since we knew we didn't have to get up with any children.
The following morning, we went to work out at our gym as long as we wanted and then headed off to our pool.  Yes, it sounds kind of boring, but what can I say...we're boring people.  It was pretty fun for us though. After getting dressed, we went to say farewell to Newel's friend and his wife who were moving away. Then, we were off to pick up our children...who weren't that thrilled to see us...They wanted more play time with their cousins. Newel and I had so much fun spending that time together.  We love our children, but it's also nice to dedicate time to just us.

We've had a super fun summer. We had some fun cousin field trips...such as going to the Wheeler Farm and checking out the animals, followed by a yummy picnic.  We were also so excited the Goebel cousins have moved here.

Of course you can't have summer without a Free concert at Liberty Park.  The girls had so much fun dancing and they didn't even mind the rain.

Also, Helen and I took the kids to a Welfare Square tour.  The kids favorite part was the cheese and chocolate milk samples.

Also, we had a super fun 4th July celebration at Helen's house.  There were fireworks galore!  Newel put on a great show.  One of my favorite parts was that Arden wanted fireworks so badly, he contributed a good chuck of his savings to the purchasing of fireworks. Oh, we also went over to Sugar House Park to see the other big fireworks. However, the only ones in attendance were Casey, his girls, and us. It was fun to remember how fun and magical fireworks are.  I really enjoyed seeing them again through the eyes of my children.

We also stayed up late watching movies at the Draper Amphitheater..with lots of junk food. We've had a Super Summer!
