Hawaii Part 3

The following morning was our last day in Hawaii.  We got up early and went for a drive.  We stopped at  Pupukea Beach Park to go wading.  The water was crystal clear and was so fun to see the fishes all around me. We took a lot of photos for Arden and Maya so they could experience some of the things we were also experiencing.  Since we were up early, we were the only people at the beach. It was so relaxing.
Where's Karen?

Our next stop was at at nature center and again...I waited too long to post this, so now I don't remember the name of the place.

However, it was pretty cool.  The weather that day was wonderful, so we got to enjoy the outdoors a lot.  We walked around the nature center. We saw some amazing plants and even enjoyed looking at another waterfall. Again, we were not allowed to swim at the waterfall because there had been too much rain and it could be dangerous to get dragged in the current. Normally, that waterfall is only a trickle.
There had been so much rain, one of the roads at the center was closed...Newel of course wanted to go that way, so off we went...breaking some rules. We also played some native Hawaiian games.

Newel knows I'm a sucker for shrimp. After our nature trip, we headed to the North Shore to check out some of the best shrimp around.  They were yummy and garlicky.  Since Newel is allergic to shellfish, he enjoyed an nice huge hamburger. He was so nice finding these places for me.

After another drive around the island, we headed back Waikiki.  Newel laid by the beach, while I went to the International Market for some fun trinket shopping.  It was turn to go home that night, so we enjoyed our last meal at the Marukame Udon Restaurant.  It was a really fun eating experience and you know the food is good there when there's a line out the door.

I left that night, but Newel still had one more day of work.  It was such a fun time with just the two of us.

Arden is the most qualified Junior Ranger Zion has every known. His ability to grasp details and find fascination in something as common as lichens inspires me to learn more and more and more. Thanks for inviting me on this too-fun trip, Karen. Love you forever!
