Random Blurbs

May 11th, Maya sleeps on her big girl bed for the first time. Arden transitioned from a crib to a bed around the same age. It wasn't too bad getting her to stay in her bed...the first couple of nights. Then, she discovered that she can get out of her bed and play. Most nights, the children will play for an hour before they finally fall asleep. They try escaping from the room, they climb on their dresser, take out the books, jump on the beds, and I don't even want to know what else. It's an animal house during that time. But they finally fall asleep...and wake up very early the next morning to start their routine all over again.

Last Tuesday night, it was Newel's birthday. Kristen and B took him out to dinner to celebrate. I stayed home with the girls and my children to take care of them. It was so fun.

The little ones (Tabitha and Maya) and I played dolls. We played over an hour...dressing, undressing the dolls, driving them around, laying them down to sleep, feeding them etc. These are the Polly Pockets. They normally don't play with them because the pieces are too small and the girls can swallow them or choke on them. I was supervising.

It was like being a kid again! The time went by so quickly. I feel sad that I don't do this enough. I don't pause and just play. I'm too busy worrying about a clean house, meals, teaching my children how to behave properly, disciplining, etc. I need to pause and play more often. If I don't, I'm going to regret it. It's a long time before I become a grandmother, so I need to pause and play.
