On our way there, Mayita caught a bug and threw up most of the night (while we were driving through the night) and part of the next day. We didn't get much sleep, we did a lot of laundry, but we were glad to be there.
Craig and Tanya were super nice and let us stay over at their place, even with our sick child. They were such nice hosts. They even took us back to Mexico. Oh, do we love Mexico!
Just so you know, we made there and back in one piece. No problems. We didn't get shot, arrested, or kidnapped by anyone. We were perfectly safe.
It probably helps that Tanya and Craig know Tijuana and its surroundings pretty well.
Once we crossed the border into Mexico, we went to the beach to a place called La Mision. It was really nice to be by the ocean. I missed the smell of the sea, the sand, the waves, the breeze, the kelp, and everything else.
It was so relaxing.

Even Maya who was still a bit sick was loving the beach.
Arden gave boogie boarding a try and liked it, a little bit.

After the beach we went to Ensenada for some shopping. I stayed in the van with Maya.

Then, back to Tijuana to one of our all time favorite restaurants: El Rodeo.
The food is delicious, the service is fabulous, and the atmosphere is friendly.

If you're ever in Tijuana, El Rodeo is the place to eat.
The following day, Newel drove to Pasadena to play basketball with the groom and hang out with some friends. I stayed with the children for a while, then I got on the train and headed to Pasadena to join Newel for the wedding.
It was an amazing wedding. I can't even begin to describe, so I won't. I left the camera in the car, so I could enjoy an amazing night with Newel.
The children stayed with Tanya, who is so nice and sweet to watch them for us. It really meant a lot to us. It was also really nice to know the children like Tanya and they were in good hands.
On Sunday, we got up early and headed home. It was a short trip, but loads of fun.
