When Arden started Kindergarten I was concerned about his performance at school. After all, he is one of the youngest Kindergarteners in his class and at the beginning of the school year he was not interested in reading, writing, counting, or letters. And I also felt he might be a bit immature for to start school, nevertheless, we gave school a try.
It's the end of the 2nd trimester and we received his report card. I'm so impressed with his progress. He can read a lot of words, counting is so much better, and he plays nice with others. Today I felt very proud of my little man. At one point this evening Arden compared himself to his friend Parker, who is in the 2nd or 3rd set of books they get to take home and read. While Arden is about to finish the 1st set of reading books. We told him that it was not a competition between Arden and Parker. We only and he should only compare himself to himself. We mentioned how proud we were of all that he has accomplished at school. You could see that he was also proud of himself. I can also see him doing things better at home as well. This past week, getting ready in the mornings has not been such a struggle as it has been the previous...6 months. Progress is there and it is continous, it's just hard to see it sometimes, but for today, I am enjoying this proud moment.

We've been bragging Arden up, ourselves. We've always adored him, but it's also fun to enjoy his new facets. What a great kid!
