| La vaquerita Jesse |
This adorable little girl name Eliza turned 3 and had a big party. It was an all out party. Since the Ocampo's house was too small for a party, they rented a place that had a couple of small pools, along with a tent, fancy chairs and tables, and a big bouncy house.
Eliza was dressed as Jesse, the cowgirl from Toy Story and that was the rest of the party's theme.
I must say, Mexican's know how to throw a party! There was a ton of food Margarita and I made, along with her mom and mother-in-law's help. The food was delicious. There were treats, a piñata, and cake. What more can a kid (or a grown up) ask for?
There was a lot of swimming, but mostly enjoyed by Arden and another kid named Diego. They had a blast swimming. Other kids didn't bring their suits and for others, the water was too cold to stay in the water too long.

All that week we had cloudy and rainny days and we were worried that the party was going to be ruined by rain...but we were lucky. The day started cloudy, but as the party was on its way, it got sunny and even warm. By the time we were done hitting the life size Jesse piñata and eating the cake, it began to rain. The rain was insane. It rained cats and dogs and the streets got a bit flooded. Lightning was everywhere, sounding loud and dangerous. We were protected from the rain by a big tent with metal poles holding it up and that scared me a bit. I did not want to end up cooked, so I took my kids to the next best thing...the cement kitchen they had for the party.
There was lightning everywhere! There were a couple of lightning strikes not too far from the place we were at, like the tree next door and the sizzling power line, about 50 feet from us. We hung out in the kitchen until the rain and lightning stopped. Eventually, other people joined us at our shelter.

Even though it rained, it was a great party. The kids had a lot of fun.
