I love the people of Mexico. They are so welcoming. Margarita and Chinito´s extended family treat us like we´re part of their family. The Saturday after our arrival we needed to go to Mexico City to Margarita´s mother´s house. As we got there, they were waiting for us with some delicious sopes. We spent part of the afternoon at their house and the kids played, watched TV and had a great time with them.

Arden is in insect heaven. He is constantly finding new critters to play with. As I post, there will be lots of photos of him holding different things.
Maya is having a lot of fun playing and arguing with the girls at the Ocampo house.

The following Monday I was in need of fruits and veggies, so we hit a veggie/fruit store called 'verduleria' in Spanish. They are all over the place and it's the local place to go buy your veggies and fruits for the food you want to cook with that day. It's very convenient. As we were buying our goods, Arden noticed the lady at the store had giant ants trapped in a cup. It turns out that in some places in Mexico, those giant ants are cleaned, roasted, and eaten. They were at the end of their season and we found them everywhere , after we noticed them at the verduleria. The lady was saving them so her brother-in-law could cook them, the right way. Arden of course was loving it and started looking for them everywhere we went. I had to remind him not to run into the road to catch one...
That night we sang to Chinito and had cake. We didn't do anything for Eliza because her party was planned for the following Saturday. That week, we mainly spent it running errands for the party.
